Setting up Google Apps Mail from WHM

This article is applicable for the Linux Reseller Hosting which comes with WHM

1) Login to WHM

2) However, proceed to the Search panel which is placed on the top left corner and type in “edit dns” and click on Edit DNS Zone below the DNS Functions

3) After that, choose the domain name that you wish to edit under the “Choose a Zone to Edit” and click on Edit

4) Then, edit the records

5) Finally for the Email Routing, please select “Remote Mail Exchanger” instead of Local Mail Exchanger

Setting up Google Apps Mail from WHM

6) Final step will be in Saving the changes.

WHM – Initial Setup Guide

1. Login to WHM
P/s: You may ignore the SSL warning if you don’t own a valid SSL

2. Click ‘I Agree/Go to Step 2’

3. Insert your valid ‘Server Contact Email Address’, ‘This Server’s Hostname’.

The Primary Resolver set as 208.67.222.222 and Secondary Resolver as 208.67.220.220. Click ‘Save & Go to Step 3’. 

4. Click ‘Go to Step 4’.

5. Select BIND name server, insert the nameservers and its corresponding A record as per sceenshot. Then insert your server IP in ‘IP for Entry’.

Open Ports in CSF Firewall through SSH
  1. Login to your Linux Server through SSH. Open csf.conf file using any text editor./etc/csf/csf.conf
  2. Add the port you wish to open and restart CSF firewall for the changes to take into effect.# Allow incoming TCP ports
    TCP_IN = “20,443,465,21,22,587,993,25,53,80,110,143,995”
    # Allow outgoing TCP ports
    TCP_OUT = “20,21,443,587,22,25,80,110,43,53”
  3. csf -r  // This is to restart CSF firewall
Open Ports in CSF Firewall through WHM
  1. Login to WHM.
  2. Type firewall in Find bar and click on ConfigServer Security&Firewall link.
  3.  Click on the Firewall Configuration button.
  4. Scroll down and locate Allow incoming TCP ports section. Enter the port you wish to open and click on the Change button at the bottom to save your changes.
  5. Lastly, you will need to restart csf by clicking on Restart csf+lfd button.

Create cPanel account on your WHM

Before create an account on your WHM, if you are pointing to free dns zone as per below in that case you may need to add and update the DNS by referring this URL before proceeding add the account.

Here will show you the step how to create an account from your WHM

1. Login to WHM IPAddress:087/ or ostname:2087/ with your server root login.

2. Search for “Create a New Account” under Account Functions

3. At right side, fill in the a new account detail with your domain name that you have purchase and click Create. It will generate the cPanel detail and may save the detail.

4. Once the account create, locate the account from List Account to confirm its create and now you may release the login to your user or keep by your own.

5. Done.

How to change the root WHM password

1. Log into WHM with URL : www.Your-Domain.com/whm

2. Click the Server Configuration icon on the home screen.

3. From the Server Configuration menu, click Change Root Password.

4. In the New Password field, enter the desired new password.

5. In the Confirm New Password field, retype the new password.

6. Click Change Password to confirm your changes.
