SolusVM Control Panel User Manual (Bootstrap Theme)<\/h3>\n

Quick Start Guide<\/strong><\/h2>\n<\/div>\n

This article describes how to use the SolusVM<\/a> control panel to manage your VPS<\/a>. SolusVM enables you to control many aspects of your VPS<\/a> using a web interface.<\/p>\n

1. \u00a0 \u00a0Logging on to the SolusVM Control Panel<\/h6>\n<\/div>\n

Visit\u00a0https:\/\/solusvm.hostcentral.net:5656\u00a0using the \u201cSolusVM Control Panel\u201d information provided in the welcome email.
\nEnter your\u00a0Username<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Password<\/strong>\u00a0and click \u201cLogin\u201d.<\/p>\n

2. \u00a0 \u00a0Control Panel Overview<\/h6>\n<\/div>\n

After logging in, you will be presented with your control panel overview. From here you can access all the functionality that the panel provides.<\/p>\n

These include
\n\u2013 Viewing VPS Statistics
\n\u2013 Rebooting, Shutting Down\/ Starting Up your VPS
\n\u2013 Re-installing your VPS
\n\u2013 Changing the Hostname of your VPS
\n\u2013 Changing the Root Password of your VPS
\n\u2013 Changing the Login Password to the SolusVM Control Panel
\n\u2013 Serial Console to your VPS<\/p>\n

3. \u00a0 \u00a0Viewing VPS Statistics<\/h6>\n<\/div>\n

Click on the \u201cStatistics\u201d tab to view the various statistics for your VPS. These include\u00a0Traffic<\/strong>,\u00a0Load<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Memory<\/strong>.
\nThe\u00a0Time Span<\/strong>\u00a0for the graphs available can be as little as \u201c1 hour\u201d to maximum \u201c1 year\u201d.<\/p>\n

4. \u00a0 \u00a0Rebooting, Shutting Down\/ Starting Up your VPS<\/h6>\n<\/div>\n

These buttons allow you to change the various power states of your VPS.
\n\u2013\u00a0Reboot<\/strong>\u00a0will reboot your VPS
\n\u2013\u00a0Shutdown<\/strong>\u00a0will switch off your VPS if it is currently running
\n\u2013\u00a0Boot<\/strong>\u00a0will switch on your VPS if it is not powered up<\/p>\n

5. \u00a0 \u00a0Re-installing your VPS<\/h6>\n<\/div>\n

You can restore your VPS to the initial setup state by clicking the \u201cReinstall<\/strong>\u201d button. But doing so will destroy all data in the currently VPS.\u00a0This process is not reversible!<\/em><\/p>\n

If you choose to reinstall your operating system, click on the \u201cReinstall<\/strong>\u201d button and you will be asked to select the OS Template.<\/p>\n

Click \u201cReinstall<\/strong>\u201d to confirm your action. The process will take a few minutes and once it\u2019s complete, you will be able to login to the VPS.<\/p>\n

6. \u00a0 \u00a0Changing the Hostname of your VPS<\/h6>\n<\/div>\n

Click on the \u201cHostname\u201d tab to rename the Hostname of your VPS.<\/p>\n

Enter the new Hostname and click \u201cChange\u201d to confirm the change.<\/p>\n

7. \u00a0 \u00a0Changing the Root Password of your VPS<\/h6>\n<\/div>\n

Click on the \u201cRoot\/Admin Password\u201d tab to change the Root password of your VPS.<\/p>\n

Enter the new Root password and click \u201cChange\u201d to confirm the change.<\/p>\n

8. \u00a0 \u00a0Changing the Login Password to the SolusVM Control Panel<\/h6>\n<\/div>\n

Click on the \u201cMy Account\u201d link on the top header to change the Login Password to the SolusVM Control Panel.<\/p>\n

Enter your current password and the new password and click \u201cUpdate Password\u201d to confirm the change.<\/p>\n

You can also change the\u00a0Login Alert<\/strong>\u00a0settings here. If checked, you will receive an email notification each time someone logs into your Control Panel.
\nTo stop receiving email notifications, uncheck this box.<\/p>\n

9. \u00a0 \u00a0Serial Console to your VPS<\/h6>\n<\/div>\n

Click on the \u201cSerial Console\u201d button to initiate a new session to your VPS. You will be asked to specify a Session Time validity period from \u201c1 Hour\u201d to maximum \u201c8 Hours\u201d.
\nThis method of connection to your VPS should only be used in emergencies. E.g. accidentally locking yourself out of the VPS via firewall.<\/p>\n

Click on \u201cCreate Session\u201d to start the session.
\nNext, choose how you would like to create the session using either
\n\u2013\u00a0HTML 5 Console<\/strong>\u00a0(Recommended)
\n\u2013\u00a0Java Console<\/strong><\/p>\n

Your serial console session will now be created<\/p>\n
