Configure an IMAP account in Microsoft Office 2016<\/h3>\n

1. Launch your Microsoft Outlook 2016.<\/a><\/p>\n

2. From Top left menu, click on\u00a0FILE<\/strong>\u00a0> make sure that\u00a0Info<\/strong>\u00a0is selected on the left> click on\u00a0Add Account.<\/strong><\/p>\n

3. Enter your full email address > click on \u201cAdvanced options<\/strong>\u201d > tick the checkbox \u201cLet me set up my account manually<\/strong>\u201d then Connect.<\/p>\n

4. Choose account type, select\u00a0IMAP<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

5. Enter mail.domain.com for Incoming and Outgoing mail server (SMTP).<\/p>\n

6. Select \u201cNone\u201d under Encryption method.<\/p>\n

7. \u00a0Assign Incoming mail server to port 143 and Outgoing mail server (SMTP) port to 587, \u00a0click Connect.<\/p>\n

8. Enter password for your email address then Click OK.<\/p>\n

9. Account setup is complete. Lastly, check the checkbox if you want to setup outlook mobile on your phone then click OK.<\/p>\n

Your email account now is ready to use.<\/p>\n

Note: If you wish to edit the Account Setting , you may proceed with below step<\/strong><\/p>\n

1. File> Account Setting> Double click your email address> More Settings<\/p>\n

2. Click on Outgoing server tab to check on \u201cMy outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication\u201d as it is our currently mail server policy to allow sending from mail client.<\/p>\n

3. Click on Advanced tab and you can edit your port setting here.<\/p>\n

4. By default, system will select the option \u201cLeave a copy of messages on the server\u201d as a backup. Click OK.<\/p>\n

5. After edit click OK, it will return to the Add account setting. Click on Next and click on Close after the Test Account Settings has been done.<\/p>\n

6. Your email account in Microsoft Outlook 2016 is ready to use.<\/p>\n
